After qualifying as a medical doctor and practicing as a general practitioner for a year, Dr Kamal Bhana was accepted by the Department of Dermatology, University of Wales, United Kingdom where he began his training in dermatology. Here the foundation for his dermatology career was laid and he developed a deep interest in diseases of the skin.
 

In 2009, seeing the need for specialist services in the Northern suburbs of Durban, Dr Bhana commenced private practice in Broadway, Durban North. The practice provides specialist therapies for a wide range of skin, hair and nail disorders. Dr Bhana has a special interest in skin cancer detection and treatment, dermatologic surgery and cosmetic dermatology. Every attempt at keeping his dermatological knowledge current is made. He regularly attends local and international conferences, lectures and workshops; ensuring that he is able to offer the latest treatment protocols and equipment to his patients. His staff members receive weekly tutorials on current developments in the field.
 
Dr Bhana is licensed as a specialist dermatologist with the HPCSA, a member of the Dermatology Society of South Africa, South African Medical Association and Independent Physicians Association.
