Dr Jiyana has extensive experience in the resuscitation of neonates and children, the management of ill children as well as neonatal and paediatric ventilation.

The doctor also has experience with paediatric and neonatal fluid and nutritional management, cardiovascular imaging (paediatric and neonatal cardiac echocardiography, paediatric and neonatal X-rays), cardiovascular diagnostic angiography as well as cardiovascular interventional cardiology that includes percutaneous closure of congenital lesions, balloon angioplasties of coarctation and stenting.

As a member of the European Society of Cardiologists and the South African Heart Association, Dr Samkelo Jiyana strives to resolve congenital and acquired heart disease in children and adolescents by providing holistic paediatric cardiology services involving the diagnosis and management of children with congenital and acquired heart disease and neonatal care.
