Bestmed Medical Aid Plans

Bestmed has 3 series of plans. We list them below, and in the table below the list you can see them in order of price, cheapest first.

Beat

Beat 1 and Beat 1 Network
This is a hospital plan, although Bestmed does pay for some out of hospital MRIs, contraceptives and maternity benefits.

This plan has a savings account. In addition, Bestmed pays for some out of hospital MRIs, contraceptives, preventative dentistry, mammograms and maternity benefits.

Pace

Pace 1 | Pace 2 |Pace 3 | Pace 4
These plan have a savings account as well as an additional fund for out-of-hospital claims. In addition, Bestmed pays for some out of hospital MRIs, contraceptives, preventative dentistry, optometry, mammograms and maternity benefits.

Pulse

Pulse 1 (A | B | C)
This is a capitated plan (the less you earn the less you pay). There is no savings account, but there is a fund and out of hospital benefits are available from Network providers. These include GPs, specialists, basic dentistry, optometry, maternity and more.

  • Price is not a good indicator of value. Different schemes pay for different things, and a more expensive plan can actually end up saving you money in the long run. Nevertheless, if you prefer, you can search for a medical aid by price.
