More about Dr Rudi Mare

Dr Rudi Maré qualified in 1986 with an MBChB degree from the University of the Free State. He then joined the SANDF for 4 years. He was stationed at the Institute for Aviation Medicine as a Plight Medical Officer (FM.) and presenter of the FMO course to interested General practitioners and Specialists.

This was followed by a stint at 1 Military Hospital at the Ear, Nose and Throat Department. He then went into private practice as a GP from 1991 — 1992. He went to the Department of Oncotherapy at the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein where he qualified as a Clinical Oncologist in 1997. He joined the Alberts, Bouwer and Jordaan Oncology group in 1998.

He is a member of SASCRO and ASC and is a lifelong member of the South African Aerospace Medical Society.

He enjoys camping with his family, travelling and fly-fishing. He is working as a Clinical and Radiation Oncologist at the Benoni Oncology Centre.
